Press release from #LondonMidland #Birmingham #Wolverhampton #Stafford londonmidland/about-us/latest-news/#/pressreleases/no-direct-london-midland-service-between-birmingham-and-liverpool-1108842?utm_campaign=send_list **No direct London Midland service between Birmingham and Liverpool** Unfortunately it has been confirmed overnight that overhead lines between Wolverhampton and Stafford are currently down. We are therefore unable to run direct London Midland services both ways between Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street for the remainder of the day. Our direct service will therefore only be running from Crewe to Liverpool Lime Street. Passengers looking to travel between Birmingham and Wolverhampton will need to catch London Midland local services. Ticket acceptance is currently also in place with Virgin and Cross Country. Road transport is currently in place between Wolverhampton, Penkridge and Stafford. Passengers who are looking to travel from Stafford to Crewe and beyond will need to catch Virgin and Cross Country services where ticket acceptance is in place. Passengers will be able to change back to a London Midland service at Crewe if that is their preferred option. The problem is also affecting our Euston to Crewe service with trains on this service only unable to call at Rugeley Trent Valley.. Passengers looking to travel on this line to Rugeley are advised to continue travel to Stafford where they will be able to change and travel back to Rugeley Trent Valley. Network Rail are currently working to resolve the problem and updates will be issued throughout the day. Passengers are advised to check journey planning information for updates before they travel. London Midland apologises for the inconvenience this may cause and thanks passengers for their ongoing patience while this problem is resolved.
