Press with Immediate Release Date: 22 July 2014 MOGALAKWENA RESIDENTS WELCOME THE APPOINTMENT OF MUNICIPAL MANAGER AND OTHER SECTION 57 BY MOGALAKWENAMUNICIPALITY Mogalakwena Residents Association welcomes all the decisions made by the Special Council of Mogalakwena Municipality held on the 21st July 2014 at 14H00 at Lleka lekalakala Building. We view the decisions made on the day as the most progressive and these decisions will enhance service delivery to our communities. Unlike our detractors who always enjoy reporting negatively about our Municipality and pursuing their own malicious intentions to see our people suffering while they enrich themselves, we wish to tell our people good stories about our own Municipality. Under our capable Mayor cde Malose William Mabuela, we have noticed a lot of improvements in terms of stability in governance of our Municipality and a sound administrative stability. We welcome the appointment of Mr. Shella William Kekana as the Municipal Manager; his contract will be commence from the 1st August 2014 until 31 August 2017. His contract provides him with all the opportunity to continue with the good work of ensuring that our municipality continues to get a clean audit and become the best performing municipality in the province despite all attempts by COGHSTA Limpopo to discredit and place it under administration. This is a fight we had always committed ourselves to win with everything at our disposal. We are also impressed by the appointment of Mr. Mokopane Vaaltyn Letsoalo as the Manager Planning and Development Services. Mr Letsoalo is a locally based person from Mahwelereng and he brings with himself quite a big experience as a former Municipal Manager of Waterberg District Municipality (WDM). Under his stewardship the WDM won Clean Audits in two consecutive years. We hope he will be able to stimulate SMME’s and locally based projects. Mogalakwena Residents Association will give him all the necessary support while guarding jealously against the interest of the community. We also want to welcome the appointment of Mr Malope Alfred Tshesane as the Chief Financial Officer of Mogalakwena municipality, he is coming with a lot of experience which he accumulated as the Chief Finance officer of Kungwini Local Municipality for four years and he rose from the ranks in that particular municipality. We wish him all the best in his new responsibilities. We were quite impressed by the Municipal Council’s courage and commitment to rename Mahwelereng Sporting Complex to Madimetja Piet Pale Sporting Complex. This is a sign of commitment by the council under the leadership of cde Malose William Mabuela to recognize the role which MRA and its leadership are advancing as the vanguard movement for the community in general. The legacy of our founding Chairperson and spokesperson will always live amongst us and he will never be forgotten. He will always remain the inspiration of the poor and the vulnerable. We are committed to work with the municipality in order to mobilize and rally all the people including both the Administrative and Political leadership of the municipality in ensuring that our municipality remains the best in the province and in the country.
