Here are a few that we’ve found should always be avoided. We Can’t Do That: It is important to keep a positive, solution focused attitude, especially when interacting with customers. Instead of shutting down their issues as something that you don’t deal with, find a way to help. I Don’t Know How: While no one knows how to do everything, the most successful people commit to learning what they don’t know. Therefore they never utter this phrase without a yet at the end. I Did Everything on my Own: Success is almost always a collaborative effort. Leaders are always ready to share credit with others. This doesn’t take any glory away from you; instead, it makes you look like a team player. It’s Too Bad We Couldn’t Work Together: If you find someone with whom you want to work, find a way. Don’t pass up the opportunity because it isn’t convenient. Focus on taking advantage of those occasions when you really click with someone. That Was My Idea: If someone else is getting most of the attention for something in which you participated, it is better to spread the wealth and do more great things down the road.
