Prestun woke up with a bit of a running nose and some extra - TopicsExpress

Prestun woke up with a bit of a running nose and some extra grumpiness today. I know his counts are about to go down, but we are gearing up for 15 days of proton radiation (NJ is one of only 13 places in the nation with this specialized equipment) and chemo. He has stopped being as hungry, which is why Im glad I have fought to keep the tube in. As we head off to clinic for blood taking and the rest, I cant begin to say how touched I was by a group of people I never met and what they did for us at their office this afternoon. My friend Stephanie, who is raising money and doing an Ironman for Prestun, told her friends about him. Her friend Pamela from Area 23 in New York got her whole office involved and they ran a bake sale, a card making contest for profit and hosted us today to let Prestun be a kid. They gave us comic books, had art designed for his room, had a bat signal he could use at night and played with him. He got to be a kid for an hour. He was happy. They let me talk to them about my frustrations and even let me cry for a minute. I am so touched that these nice people did this for us and my son, especially as we get ready for a very tough two weeks. I am grateful for everything and everybody even though the last week has been very emotionally hard on me. Thank you to Pam and Stephanie and all the people at Area 23 for letting Prestun smile a bit before being poked. You are all wonderful. And thanks to everyone on this page for continuing to support us and fundraise with us and pray. We could use it all.
