Pretty good news! 23,000 people died in the US from Antibiotic - TopicsExpress

Pretty good news! 23,000 people died in the US from Antibiotic Resistant Superbugs just last year. Compare that to the 0 number of people who died from Measles last year in the US. Risk of a bacterial infection far outweighs risk from Measles, but which have you seen getting more media coverage lately? Truth: We overused anti-biotics and we exploit the use of vaccinations to our detriment. Still waiting to see a behavioral economist do a comprehensive study behind our overuse of antibiotics and 300% increase in vaccine schedule. If people see the actual data, 28/29 people who got Measles during the outbreak in Boston this year were already vaccinated with MMR. Not one died. How come more unvaccinated people dont show up in the actual numbers, yet all you hear about in the media is how unvaccinated people are spreading the disease? We certainly cant blame un-antibiotic people for Superbugs either. I am not against vaccines or anti-biotics, but the outcomes of what is happening is clear enough to me. A gallon/overuse of prevention is not worth a lifetime of bacterial and viral superbugs let alone auto-immune related diseases. If we can find a way to irradicate Measles in the world (including the use of vacs), I am all for it; however, the pressures to get the MMR vaccine as well as many others seem as effective as overused Anti-biotics.
