Pretty soon our Facebook feeds will be filled with a wave of cynicism and complaints about the ALS Ice bucket challenge. Lets not give into that cynicism this time. Every popular trend seems to go through these three steps: Step 1: This is cool. We should get everybody to do it. Step 2: Everybody does it. Step 3: This is not cool, because everybody is doing it. Lets not give into cynicism this time. Lets not be overly critical. Lets just have a good time pouring ice on our heads. It wont change everything, and it will get silly, and some people will use it for personal gain, but lets just enjoy the fact that social media and some buckets of ice have been creatively wielded for the good of our neighbors and be grateful.
