Pretty stupid on the part of Obama to disparage art education. As a Columbia grad, he certainly knows the role of the arts in public life. Art majors learn valuable skills: critical thinking; awareness of other cultures; a sense of history; foreign languages; aesthetics; how to track ownership; how to estimate value; computer skills: and conservation techniques among others. We dont need the President to encourage anti-intellectualism in America. There is enough of that already.
