Pretzel bird nests are easy for dessert tomorrow! Line muffin cups with paper liners (so you can get these out after they harden). Put about 8 pretzel sticks in the liner, placing them in all directions. Any broken ones can go on top of the middle to reinforce the nest. Melt about 1 cup of candy making chocolate morsels or 3 squares of Candy Quick on low heat in a small nonstick pan. (I got these at Winco in the bulk foods bins & they are chips about the size of quarters.) Once they start to melt, stir with a heat safe spatula until completely melted. (This burns easily & stirring makes things go better for you.) Stir in 6 drops of green food coloring for light green; more if you want the nest darker. With a spoon, drizzle about a tablespoon of melted chocolate over each nest & then refrigerate about 10 minutes for the chocolate to harden. Add 3 speckled M&Ms to each nest for the eggs. Im going to put these on top of cupcakes for tomorrow but they can be served in the muffin liners too.
