Preview of what I will post on W4C tomorrow morning (JW) Saturday Devotion to my Father I had an amazing dream a couple nights ago. In the dream it was a beautiful fall day and the temperature was perfect. There were 4 ducks flying away from a blind I was in. They were about tree top high and in a horizontal line. A duck call sounded from somewhere within the blind with me and one of the ducks heard it. He recognized the tone and cadence of a call he needed to hear. In that moment a perfect relationship between need and recognition produced peace and comfort. The duck turned, cupped its wings and glided back towards the blind. This happened to each of the ducks, one after the other. The caller was a master. He didnt hurry and a feeling of confidence filled the blind. It was as if he knew exactly what tone and cadence each bird individually needed to feel safe and he spoke to their very hearts desire. The pairing was so perfect and natural that coming inwas just the next natural/logical step. One by one he spoke to them and one after the other they turned and cupped in, gliding towards the blind. In the dream, At the other end of the call was not a hunter but a completion of a natural bond with their Creator. They had returned to the place from which they once came. For me the dream was not about ducks turning but Gods children returningto him. Each of us speaks our own language and each of us knows what speaks to our heart. Our Fathers call is undeniable, he is a part of us even as we are apart from him. In the same way we are all born with a specific ability or gift that speaks directly to the heart of people or even just one person whom only we can reach. A calling, if you will that creates a tone that when it is used to reach out to someone on a similar wavelength simply sounds like home. I woke up in the middle of that night feeling like I needed to call everyone and tell them to work from the things they love. Love has always been the key. I truly believe that what we love in this world reveals our gift from our father and when we work from that passion we each find our own language. In the beginning we heard his call. Each of us who are his have heard him, committed and are coming home but along the way we must find our voice and call to the others who are yet lost. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” (Mark 4:23 NLT) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, (John 10:27, 28 NLT) In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! (Luke 15:7 NLT) But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. (1 John 4:8, 12, 13 NLT) John replied in the words of the prophet Isaiah: “I am a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Clear the way for the LORD’s coming!’” (John 1:23 NLT) The number 4 in a dream represents balance, stability, and sacrifice of negativity. When you see it in a dream its usually pointing to something negative in your life that is being removed. A removal of chaos or unpredictability.
