Pride Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18 Pride and Proud are the same, just spelled differently. Some don’t seem to think so. This reminds me of the builder of the Titanic, when this luxury liner was finished being build, the builder boasted that “the ship is unsinkable, not even God can sink it.” My grandmother was just eight years old when the Titanic set sail on her maiden voyage and she told me this story. If this ship builder had given God the glory, things might have gone well. Proverb 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
