Come march 23rd, you will get a glimpse of the fantastical and bizzare world of Truck racing as Tata launches its T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship. The race is to take place at the Buddh International Circuit, using customised FIA spec Tata Prima trucks which will churn out 370 bhp and hit a top speed of 110 kph. Not bad for something that has the aerodynamic properties of the SR-71...s hangar. Up until now Truck racing has largely been popular in the more mullet infested corners of North America since anything smaller is obscured by beer bellies. However Tata has infused these 12 bespoke trucks with enough sophistication including racing seats, propeller shaft guards etc. The race will be handled by the MMSCI, basing the rules on the ones followed by the British Truck racing association.
