Primary Maths Workshops. On Wednesday 8m October, Miss Dixon and Miss Araceli ran two maths workshops for the parents of primary-aged students. The ï¬rst maths workshop, held in the morning, was for the parents of Year l students. With the aid of many examples of visual, audio and tactile resources such as those the students use in class, Miss Dixon and Miss Araceli explained how we teach mathematics in Year l, following the British Curriculum. The second maths workshop, held in the afternoon, was for the parents of Year 3 children. Miss Dixon and Miss Araceli explained some of the different mathematical methods we use to teach the children to add, subtract, divide and multiply, using both mental and written methods. Thank you to all parents who were able to attend and for all feedback given. A special ‘thank you’ to Miss Dixon for all her hard work with preparing and delivering the workshops, and also to Miss Araceli for translating on the day and for translating all the documents included in the workshop folders. Talleres de Matemáticas en Primaria El pasado miércoles 8 de octubre, Miss Araceli y Miss Dixon llevaron a cabo dos talleres para los padres de los alumnos de primaria. El primer taller de matemáticas se celebró por la mañana y fue para los padres de los alumnos de Year l. Con la ayuda de muchos ejemplos visuales, de audio y de recursos táctiles tales como los que emplean los alumnos en clase, Miss Araceli explicó como enseñamos matemáticas en Year l, de acuerdo al CurrÃculum Británico. El segundo taller de matemáticas, celebrado por la tarde, fue para los padres de los alumnos de Year 3. Miss Dixon y Miss Araceli explicaron algunos de los métodos de matemáticas que utilizamos para enseñar a los niños a sumar, restar, dividir y multiplicar, utilizando tanto métodos mentales como escritos. Muchas gracias a todos los padres que pudieron asistir y por todos los comentarios recibidos. Un agradecimiento especia para Miss Dixon por toda su ardua labor preparando e impartiendo los talleres y también a Miss Araceli por traducir ese dÃa asà como por traducir los documentos incluidos en las carpetas de los talleres.
