Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced a special aid of RM500 million for flood victims in the states affected by the disaster. Dato’ Seri Fadillah Yusof announced that the government has provided RM96 million to repair 93 flood-damaged slopes – of which RM 10 million are short-term repairs. Datuk Seri Hishamuddin has announced a one-off aid of RM500 for those in the Ministry of Defence affected by the floods. RM1.821 million has been spent by the Ministry of Agriculture. The Veterinarian Department has sent 12 teams including 48 personnel to Kelantan to ensure livestock are safe. The government has also pledged to build permanent homes for the flood victims in Kuala Krai in a safer area. Wanita Umno and Barisan Nasional Flood Clean-up Squad.The squad will mobilise teams and volunteers in the affected states to help in cleaning up efforts. Temporary housing will be provided for those who have lost their homes in the recent floods. A 24-hour operation centre has been set up at Wisma MCA to gather resources and coordinate relief works. 500 MCAs Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM) members have been mobilised to flood-hit areas The MCA received donation worth RM1.1 million for flood victims in the affected states. The donation in the form of cash and basic neccessities brings the total received by the party to RM2.1 million. DAP Pulau Pinang RM 10 000 Azmin Ali Selangor RM 100 000 to Perak The Sarawak government is donating RM2mil to assist flood victims in peninsular Malaysia. Communications and Multimedia Ministry had collected RM1,035,264 to the flood victims. Works Ministrys secretary general Datuk Seri Zohari Akob flagged-off the volunteer mission where 120 KKR and JKR employees will head to the East Coast on a volunteer basis to distribute essential supplies to the victims. KKR and JKR have also deployed 37 four-wheel drive and eleven lorries to carry and transport the goods. The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has so far mobilised more than 5,000 volunteers comprising ministry personnel including from its agencies and departments to assist victims in flood-stricken areas in Perak. Agriculture and Agro Based Industry Ministry said the agencies under the ministry and the ministry would contribute RM1 million to assist flood victims in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Perak. The Federal government will hand out five types of assistance to those affected by the floods throughout the country from January.“Parents whose children are going to school will receive RM100 by early January, Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) by mid-January, goodwill payment for those whose houses were flooded and had to be evacuated (amount yet to be decided).“Two other form of assistance will be to restore damaged properties like clinics, schools, roads, hospitals and other basic infrastructure.
