Princess Frederica of Hanover, Baroness von Pawel-Rammingen. Born on 9 January 1848, she was the elder daughter of the Hereditary Prince of Hanover (later King George V of Hanover) and his wife, Princess Marie of Saxe-Altenburg. On 24 April 1880 Frederica married Baron Alfons von Pawel-Rammingen (1843–1932), the son of a government official of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. As Frederica was a male-line great-granddaughter of King George III of Great Britain, the couple chose to live in England and was given an apartment at Hampton Court Palace, where she gave birth to a daughter on 7 March 1881, who died twenty days later. In 1898 Frederica and Alfons gave up their apartment at Hampton Court Palace and moved to Biarritz in France, where they owned the Villa Mouriscot . The Baroness von Pawel-Rammingen died there on 16 October 1926 and was buried in the Royal Vault in St Georges Chapel at Windsor Castle.
