She is moderating the Austin Area Urban League Professionals BHM Panel Discussion Athletes to Advocates 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Huston-Tillotson University Recognizing the role that athletics have played in empowering African Americans in professional and leadership pursuits, the AAULYPs invite you for an important Black History Month discussion. Our hope is to acknowledge the complex role race has played and continues to play in the world of sports as both a social barrier and an avenue to educational resources, leadership positions and professional pursuits. The AAULYPs hope to engage in a multifaceted conversation on the past, present and future of athletics in our community as a resource/platform for health empowerment and social advocacy.
