Pritam calls for part of foreign worker levy to be used by Govt for foreign worker housing. But this amounts to Govt subsidising the cost of foreign workers and making them more attractive to employers than Singaporeans. The answer is to make employers bear the full cost of housing their foreign workers in conditions of a high standard regulated by frequent inspections paid for by employers. That way employers will have less incentive to undercut our workers.
