Privacy is an important decision when inviting someone to dig - TopicsExpress

Privacy is an important decision when inviting someone to dig around in your family history. The discovery process can be an emotional journey; good or bad. Many families dont wish to share their discoveries and their privacy is respected by not sharing their family stories or acknowledging them as clients to others. This type of project also applies to heritage locations, who generally keep their new exhibits under wraps until launch day. Hiring a genealogy researcher doesnt mean you must publicize your history or put a family tree online. Then, there are some families who have given permission to share their discoveries. This allows me the opportunity to share exciting information with you without divulging too much and moving into their personal privacy. Which is a wonderful way to showcase an ancestor and help other families learn what can be discovered. Hopefully, this reminder will put a few minds to ease as the decision to discover their history is made.
