Privates Gadson Browder & John Sessions Mitchum both served - TopicsExpress

Privates Gadson Browder & John Sessions Mitchum both served Company K, 25th South Carolina Infantry, Confederate States Army. They were both captured at Fort Fisher in Wilmington, NC on January 15, 1865, 149 years ago today, & held prisoners of war in Elmira, NY. Gadson was released on June 23, 1865 & John was released on July 11, 1865. Shortly following both their returns home to SC, John married Gadsons daughter, Annie Laura, & began his family. Gadson died in 1895 & John died in 1898. Gadson was Lee Johnsons 4th great Grandfather & John was Lee Johnsons 3rd great Grandfather.
