Pro tip - When creating characters for your story, consider the following: One-eyed character with an eyepatch. Plenty of potential background story there, eyepatches look badass, its representation of disabled characters (albeit a relatively minor disability), AND as an added bonus, anyone drawing fan art of your character never has to worry about making the eyes look symmetrical. Theres almost no downside.
