Pro tip of the day (in support of a journalist friend of mine who emailed me last night): If youre an aspiring politician, whose name has appeared on a ballot multiple times (including during the recent primary season), then you are fair game for being written about by journalists, bloggers, and, frankly, anyone who wants to write about you expressing their opinion of you. Sulk, whine, moan, but please, dont send idiotic letters vaguely threatening lawsuits if these journalists do not remove their articles about you. This is especially true if youre someone who has tried to make your political life about promoting constitutional principles. Theres this little thing called the First Amendment. It protects the speech of individiuals, especially political speech, and most-especially political speech in which politicians (professional, amateur or otherwise) are criticized.
