Problem Statement The world has been involved in a drastic cultural transition since time in memorial. The rapid changes within the physical, social, information, political, economic and moral spheres make our world dynamic, hence a need to exercise efforts to restore societal properties and social confidence. Relating to one another is one drastically affected area. Development Objectives (Goal) The goal of DIMAD is to help males and females to understand and effect the wired responsibilities that form the basis for promotion of practice of love and respect in relationships. The imparted knowledge will enhance nurturing of love in the light of what marriage is, and importance of contemporary challenges that pose threat to marriage. Marriage has been misconceptualized in many ways leading to unstable couples that are almost divorced. Central to a couple is a relationship that needs to be nurtured in the knowledge of what marriage is. Premarital relationships are mostly pretentious with limited groundwork on which marriage can be instituted. In duration of one’s youth-time, a person engages in succession of pretentious relationships. The pursued pretentious game eventually transforms into marriage, but with limited knowledge and fulfilled requirements of marriage. Crucial aspects of: what is marriage; who to marry; when to marry; and most importantly, why we marry, have turned to be of little importance in our society. Meanwhile, the world has devised myriad ways to marry (Christian, Custom and Civil contracts), which in turn have determined what marriage could be, leading to loss of nature and natural definition of “marriage”. Confusion is the resulting outcome. Frequent “objection people” claim they are married and know each other. Most often than not, individual backgrounds form bases of their expectations in marriage, and with limited disclosure of such expectations. This has led to limited acknowledgement, support and compromise in marriage. Separation and/or divorce have been the prime alternative, while in few cases compromise has become burden. Our Approach Ignorance of our cultural values has contributed greatly to the rising statistics of breakups and divorce. Much of the global effort focuses on dissolution of differences in relationships with little emphasis on development of character of “MAN”. DIMAD endeavours to honour the institution of marriage as a creation of God, and restore societal respect to marriage in a way that individuals engaged in relationships would enhance practice of love and respect between male and female; and effect responsibilities that promote and nurture love in marriage. Marriage has become a vicious cycle and it remains the goal of DIMAD to turn it into paradise of love. DIMAD strives to facilitate revelation of individual expectations that form basis of “individual foundations” of a couple’s marriage. The aim is to establish base for acknowledgement, support and compromise in marriage (dialogue journey). Secondly, it remains mandate of DIMAD to reveal nature of love in order to promote and improve intimacy in married couples (evenings for couples). Thirdly, as marriage in the sense of God involves male and female, it is important to reveal the assignments of male and female in order to promote proper role playing in relationships (power & purpose of woman and man). Lastly, DIMAD will interact and draw lessons that would aid development of appropriate interventions in order to enhance, and nurture practice of love in marriage (formation of clubs). Target Group The DIMAD’s target group involves the youth that grow to be involved in intimate relationship that eventually may, at most, lead to marriage. The married form core business of DIMAD. DIMAD intends to nurture the youth with the aim of promoting youth with motivation in life (possessing vision). DIMAD is guided by desire for social participation in the formulation of a new positive twist in relationships. The key elements of our approach are: participation with restoration of relevant values; facilitation of positive discourse and experiences to improve content to reality context; and application of relevant methodologies to facilitate learning by participants.
