The Operator Associate will work in the Production Department manufacturing and packaging industrial cleaners and pretreatment chemicals for our Transportation and Metals business. What we offer This role will operate equipment associated with mixing and blending liquid and dry chemicals. This includes various types of mix vessels, reactor, mill, ion exchange equipment, and dry blenders. They must follow detailed process instructions and, monitor, control, and collect accurate data on batch process steps. They will operate semi-automated equipment used to label and package finished products in pails, drums, totes, and bulk tankers. They will load and unload bulk materials from tank wagons. They will operate a forklift and use bar coding equipment, along with staging raw materials for batch production. They must follow strict safety procedures regarding the handling and use of hazardous chemicals and actively participate in the facility safety and environmental programs. Who we are looking for Physical activities will include repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs, routine climbing, carrying, twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, and working in both warm and cold environments. A qualified candidate should have basic chemical knowledge regarding common chemical reactions including acid – base reactions. Good math skills including knowledge of metric conversion principles are a plus. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and housekeeping. Must have the ability to work in a team environment and rotate within a 3-shift, Monday - Friday manufacturing schedule with overtime as needed.
