Dipping Business Targets Plant Business Targets: contributing to the Plant’s three-year business and annual operating plans, KPIs and targets, in line with Group mission, vision and strategies Dipping Function Targets: developing and getting approval for the Plant Dipping plan, KPI’s and targets, in verifiable alignment with the Plant plan and target Dipping Employee’s SMART Goals: agreeing on and aligning Dipping staff SMART Goals with Dipping function and Plant plans, KPIs and targets 2. Dipping Function Capability Dipping Process Commissioning: working closely with Group Research and Development (R&D) during the process design, equipment installation and commissioning and product testing stages to personally understand the dipping process, machinery and related hardware, software, electrics and chemicals sufficiently to fully manage the process when ready for production, including: · testing each element of the work process flow with R&D to ensure that production parameters and cost targets met · planning and completing product tests with R&D to ensure that product parameters are met · planning and testing machine performance to ensure that energy consumption is in line with established targets Dipping Process Operations Instructions: leading, in collaboration with Group R&D and Dipping Engineering, in creating all necessary operations manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining and updating these documents on an ongoing basis Dipping Equipment and Supplies: with support from R&D and dipping Engineering, developing and implementing an ongoing plan to maintain and update any and all equipment, materials and supplies needed for the dipping process Structure: creating and aligning the Dipping function structure, Role Profiles and cross-functional working relationships with Plant business plans and Group HCM guidelines People: in line with the approved Dipping function structure, creating and maintaining: · a manpower headcount and recruitment plan for Dipping staff, taking into consideration anticipated staff new hires, promotions, transfers, resignations, terminations and retirements · a staff development plan for Dipping staff to support the Dipping team’s engagement and competence levels in both the relevant Functional Skilled Knowledge (FSKs) and Managerial Leadership Competencies (MLCs) areas Dipping KPIs: establishing KPIs and tracking systems for monitoring the Dipping function’s performance and contribution to Plant KPIs in areas such as product quality, production efficiency, productions cost, energy utilization, etc Continuous Improvement: establishing processes for continuous review and improvement of the Dipping function’s performance against established KPIs Conducive Work Environment: creating a work environment that both engages employees and that also complies with country, customer and Plant/Group occupational health and safety standards and guidelines 3. Dipping Production Production Targets: establishing daily, weekly, monthly dipping production targets in line with the Plant production plan Pre-and Post-Production Preparation: establishing processes with upstream and downstream departments to ensure that required incoming materials and information are available on time and outgoing products are efficiently and properly managed Production Output: enabling and holding immediate employees accountable for producing output within the customers’ quality and quantity requirements, on time and within the budgeted cost Technical Problem Resolution: providing the Plant with technical support to help solve production problems with fabrics and/or garments, with the assistance of Group R&D and Group Dipping as needed Continuous Improvement: regularly reviewing the production process and finding ways to improve the process against established KPIs and performance targets 4. Managerial Leadership Immediate Team Collaborative Teamwork: establishing a process for meeting regularly and holding immediate employees accountable for effective and collaborative teamwork within and between Departments at their level Immediate Employee Performance Management*: agreeing on SMART goals and assignments with immediate employees, providing guidance and feedback, providing support for enhancing performance in the current role, conducting progress reviews and determining year-end performance appraisal ratings Immediate Employee Development*: assessing the strengths and development needs of immediate employees and coaching them in developing their HCM FSKs and their MLCs in line with their Role Profiles Recognition and Reward: providing differential recognition and recommendations for reward incentives for immediate employees (pay, promotion, development opportunities) De-selection: recommending re-assignment or termination of immediate employees where appropriate, supported by a fair “due process” program Appeals Process: providing a fair appeals process for employees one level down who have a grievance with their manager Business Context: communicating the ‘Big Picture’ context in which Dipping staff need to plan and execute work (e.g. world, country, industry, Group, Plant, customer and inter-departmental considerations) 5. Future Dipping Talent Pool Mentoring and Career Development*: mentoring Dipping employees one-level down based on future manpower requirements, assessment of individual potential and individual interests Immediate Employee Successor Development*: identifying and developing minimum two potential successors for immediate employees within target timeframe required by the Dipping Department Dipping Talent Pool Analysis: assessing the future potential of Dipping staff one-level down in terms of future manpower requirements 6. Alignment with TAL Core Values and Culture Personal Alignment: understanding and personally committing to the Group’s core values and culture “Walk the Talk”: leading by example and behaving consistently with the Group’s core values and culture Reinforcement and Support: communicating and visibly using the Group’s core values as guidelines for daily decision making and supporting Group initiatives to reinforce the core values and culture Coaching: Coaching immediate employees to behave consistently with the Group’s core values and culture 7. Diverse and well rounded textile background: Minimum 5 years textile manufacturing experience, including experience with knit fabric. Minimum 2 years product development experience. Understands spinning options, knitting options, the interaction of synthetic and cotton fibres, basic finishing chemistries, dyeing influences, surface finishes, shrinkage variables, etc. and the impact of all on fibre quality, fabric and finished goods performance. Understands how to use laboratory capability to support production solutions. Diverse and well rounded production background: Minimum 5 years production management experience. Built and trained high performing production teams. Developed and implemented new Standard Operating Procedures. Organized and maintained high quality and high efficiency production plans. Operated finishing machinery and drove disciplined machinery maintenance and daily housekeeping programs. Experienced with process control data collection and machinery control computer software. Proven managerial leadership competencies in the areas of Living for the Customer – highly aware of and appropriately responds our customers’ needs. Driving to Produce Results – sets, drives for and maintains high performance standards and outcomes from all involved.
