Prof. Yemane Berhane Director, ACIPH Dear Graduates, Congratulations! Graduation time is always pleasant; that is the time when one sees only happy faces with a bright future. You all deserve this day because you have worked hard enough to be part of this year celebration. This happiness can only survive long if you keep up your hard work and stay focused on your goals. We at ACIPH also share your happiness as we have worked harder than you might have imagined to make sure that you reach this day with confidence and ensure that you can live up to the expectations following graduation. We have used all means to ensure that you all reach this day and only for that reason. ACIPH strongly believes you can make a difference in the public health landscape here in Ethiopia and internationally as long as you can be part of the solution. Happiness does not come without hard work and hard work is often rewarded sooner or later. You got your reward for hard work today!!! This year has been one of the most successful years of ACIPH’s existence. Our vision to see more high level academic instructors was achieved at a remarkable pace. During this academic year 6 of the 31 PhD students provided scholarship by ACIPH has successfully defended their dissertation at the universities of Gondar and Haramaya. We hope more success in this front will come in the next academic year. That is in addition to close to 1000 masters students enrolled through our university partnership programs with universities of Gondar, Haramaya, Jimma, Mekelle, Hawassa, Wolaita Sodo, Arbaminch, and Jigjiga since 2008. We have worked diligently to ensure production of enough professionals to match the human resource demands in country and beyond. We are very much happy with the feedback we also get on the competence of our joint graduates. We are confident that you too will make us proud. The unique partnerships and the outcomes make ACIPH and its partners one of the most successful training centers in Africa. We thank you for being part of these historic partnerships. We are very grateful to our university partners as well for giving us opportunities to unpack our potentials without limits, thank you all! Today, your families, relatives and friends alike are again proud of you, for this is another graduation. They might already start thinking…what could be your next degree…God willing! Keep up…the sky is the limit. I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all course instructors who participated in our teaching programs. ACIPH very much appreciates their willingness to face the challenges of teaching even when conditions are not always as desired. Our entire staffs at ACIPH also deserve very high appreciation for bonding together to happily and successfully implement our training programs- thank you so much!!
