Professional opinions which are a MUST READ. Its hard for any fan to accept but THIS is how they look at it. My choice of course is to trust Leland Chee, Kathleen Kennedy, Bob Iger, Pablo Hidalgo, and all the people involved with the business plans for Star Wars. Now you all see why I say what I say. Of course, as time progresses, fans will continue to get upset due to certain characters and plotlines theyve all enjoyed getting not put in the upcoming movies, television shows, etc. They are hurt because they spent money to their favorite franchise before Disney purchased Star Wars because they enjoyed the EU stories told by the authors. Again, I understand the hurt. I loved it as well. However, its entertainment business. They are trying to entertain their audience which is why we say your boycott plans will fail. They KNOW how to get their money REGARDLESS of who agrees or disagrees. You choose to leave the fandom, more fans come swarming in. Thats the reality of it. Sad but its true. When the prequels were released, the stories told by the parallel universe authors was not the same as the way George Lucas wanted to tell his stories. Thats another true point. However, he was inspired though by certain things in the parallel universe even though he chose to be apart from it. Take Aayla Secura as an example. GL was interested in her as a character but he wanted to tell his story his way and not how the authors told it. Another true point, the authors knew this. Thats what Timothy Zahn keeps trying to tell his followers. Sides, the authors DO have power as well. Theyre NOT screwed over. Even though obviously George Lucas and his successors have every right to do what they please with Georges franchise, the authors can have a say if they dont agree. Heres a direct quote by Timothy Zahn: Even if something from the Thrawn Trilogy *does* show up in a movie in a different form we authors are matters of spackle, back-fill, and hand-waving. For example, if Ghent appears in the movies but never mentions Thrawn, I can argue that he simply doesnt want to talk about that era, or else has completely forgotten about it. (Which for Ghent isnt really much of a stretch.) Im hoping Disney will prove to everyone that things will be not so bad and I still hope for a great future of Star Wars. I will not agree with everything of course but I will continue to wish Disney and Lucasfilm all the best.
