Professor TIMOTHY ASOBELE. Professor and Head, Faculty of European Languages, UNILAG. He majored in French Language, African Literature, and Comparative Literature. A former Dean, School of Post-Graduate Studies He was Chairman of the Library Board, Lagos State. He has authored over 70 books. He is committed to producing 200 titles before he retires from the Ivory Tower. He has been in and out of numerous initiatives and national agencies which have tried to deepen political consciousness in the country. He is one of the strongest advocates promoting the ideals of Nigerian languages as mode of instructions in schools, especially early school years. He has produced a Dictionary of his native Kabba language. He intends to internationalize same mother tongue with a Dictionary of Kabba - Yoruba - French languages. Again, it was passionate erudition all the way, as our conversation traversed the broad tapestry of language, the human identity and consciousness, sense of self and development of human communities.
