Profiles in courage of Hispanic women part II: Dona Otilia Vasquez: love story of the century, as far as I am concerned....left the convent her mother put her in because she had not yet married. Packed up with a big Adios to the nuns and went off to seek her fame and fortune in Medellin. Knocked on the door of a business, the owner ( a much older man by 20 years), a widower with a young child hired her and fell in love with her. Mama and Papa reared up 7 children who went on to be businessmen, college professors, doctors, nurses, linguists, etc...and she scrubbed the floors herself oin her hands and knees....Top that!
