Program in Community University Partnership (CUPP) The Community University Partnership Programme (Cupp) at the University of Brighton has been involved in brokering and developing partnerships with their local communities for the past eleven years. These partnerships are concerned with the exchange of knowledge and prioritize those that tackle disadvantage. The way we work involves building links between local community groups and academics, students and support staff. The Cupp programme is concerned with mutual working between universities and communities, identifying ways in which study and research might link to current issues of local, national and global concern. Cupp’s work with universities nationally and internationally has brought us into contact with different ways to bring this about. The program is a five day intensive course for those wanting to develop their skills in university community engagement with a six-month follow-up programme.
