ProgramUpdateOfTheDay: Altru Health System (Grand Forks) Residency Program Requirements for Family Medicine [120-37-31-229] Hello Applicants, I have just spoken with the program coordinator of Altru Health System (Grand Forks) Program for Family Medicine. Listed below are the requirements: Application deadline: December 31 FMGS: 58% USMLE Step 1: Passing USMLE Step 2: Passing Attempts: 3 Max Attempts ECFMG: No, not required USMLE Step 2 CS: No, not required U.S Clinical Experience: Yes, required for 6 months Visas: J1 Time Since Graduation: 3 years or less Couples Match: Yes Additional Information: A fellowship in obstetrics was introduced in July 2007, building on the already strong obstetrical teaching and experience. Residents are able to complete a Certificate of Public Health which can be converted into a Masters of Public Health, as a result of two further three-week experiences on site at University of Minnesota, together with completion of a field project and thesis. These latter projects can be largely completed during residency. The residency program, which was founded in 1977, is configured with 6 residents in each of three years. There are seven full-time family medicine faculty members, with a combined clinical experience of more than 130 years and all are required to maintain active clinical practices. Over the past years, the Program has been the program of choice for University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences students, seeking an in-state family medicine residency. The familymedicine residency program sponsors "Mission Physician", a one-week camp for beginning junior and senior high school students from rural areas. Although the demographic background of those students favors future family physicians, most aspects of medicine are presented through shadowing, presentations, skills clinics and group discussion. We have no opposing residents. The housing and rent here is pretty ruff, because of the oil boom. youtu.be/uzZbQLynXZY To obtain your customized list visit us at: matcharesident/
