Programmed to promote, educate and change perspectives about public space in our communities through street art, the Newark Downtown District (NDD) will launch NeWWalls NEWARK in August of 2014. Led by local curator Rebecca Jampol (Director of Solo(s) Project House and The Gateway Project) and Newark-based muralist, Lunar New Year the Conference titled City as Archive will begin with ten murals simultaneously executed in the Downtown District of Newark, New Jersey. Conference Artists include Lunar New Year (Newark, NJ), NDA (Newark, NJ), Mataruda (Newark, NJ), Cake (Brooklyn, NY), Joe Iurato (Monclair, NJ) in collaboration with Rubin415 (Brooklyn, NY), 2501 (Italy), Tatyana Fazlalizadeh (Brooklyn, NY), Sonni (Brooklyn, NY), Nanook (Baltimore, MD) and Decertor (Peru).
