Programs available for Holyoke residents to keep warm this winter HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Depending on income levels or the size of your home, up to $7,200 can be provided to ensure Holyoke residents keep their home warm this winter. The Neighborhood Improvement Program provides financial assistance to income eligible homeowners in the city to make repairs or upgrades to homes year round. Although the program is focused on low and moderate income households, many working families are also eligible. With winter coming it’s the time to get inspections for gas and oil burning furnaces, and the city doesn’t want residents to jeopardize their safety. Michael Moriarty of Olde Holyoke Development Corporation told 22News, “If you find out that your furnace is on its last legs and you don’t have the funds you need to buy a brand new furnace immediately we may be able to help you.” You can go to the Olde Holyoke Development Corporations office at 70 Lyman Street, complete an application, bring a deed and income information, and quotes from two qualified providers.
