Progress is progress no matter how big - Part 2 Todays session - TopicsExpress

Progress is progress no matter how big - Part 2 Todays session was a focus on the snatch. This movement was something the wrists could not deal with after my injury. So first time in 6+ weeks I have done these. Over my rehab and training I have worked at snatch grip Deadlifts, first pull holds and snatch grip rack pulls into shrugs which have again really helped. Took my time in the first part of my session, focussing on building the load through the shoulder, elbow and wrist on the catch/overhead squat position as I was REALLY!! Unsure how it would hold up, so I chose to wear wrists straps as a cautionary measure. Managed to build up to 70kg, which is here in the video (long way to go but willing to keep moving forward)Used a first pull pause for 3 secs, this was to make sure that I could again focus on technique and make sure that my hips/glutes and hamstrings were doing a lot of the work. .....still needs work and if there are any experienced coaches out there that could analyse for me on areas of improvement then that would be awesome.... ------- I am a huge fan of Olympic lifting. The skill it requires to execute a lift is huge...but with time and proper coaching the benefits are awesome. All Olympic lifting forces you to have super flexibility, great shoulder health and core strength. Whats one thing women want? A nice tight tummy? Well in my opinion this is a fun, safe and best bang for your buck movement to add into training programs to make that happen. It also promotes better posture...just look at the position I get into on the overhead squat, add a s**t load of mobility into what you specifically require and GOOD BYE hunch back and back pain!! :) ---------- OLYMPIC LIFTING 101 Tomorrow at 10am #TeamHOT #becomeawesome
