Progress is slow but steady. Most of the lawns on our street are clear of everything but appliances, drywall dust and silt. We had to go to Okotoks so tossed in a side trip to buy a fridge. Turns out that fridges have grown and most will not fit in the space we have. Carroll has found some on the internet so now we have to find out how to get one here. In the meantime we now have a bar fridge and that will do for now. This is my first posting from inside the house. Using my computer! A crew power-washed the basement today then left. Hope stage two is tomorrow. Pain of the day: Dealing with folks who have no idea what happens during an emergency and expect it to meet a schedule and follow a plan. It is amazing what folks can come up with after the fact. There is a "re-elect no one" campaign out there. I wonder how many of the people involved have taken the time to actually vote in an election. Sigh. Joys of the day: Received a good application for our Heaven Can Wait cat at the Okotoks Pet Valu. Will complete the adoption tomorrow night. Our first post-flood adoption! We watched about half of the movie The Fifth Element tonight. Will watch the rest at a later time. The screen was the bedroom wall and the sound system was the computer speakers but it was fun.
