Progress of banks reviewed at Kathua Kathua January 06th: Lead Bank Office, Kathua, organized DCC/DLRC meeting of bankers and heads of Government Departments of Kathua district here at dc office complex today, to review the flow of GLC, performance of banks in key areas relating to deposits, advances under priority sector lending for the quarter ended September 2014. The meeting was chaired by Er. Narinder Singh Bali, ADDC, Kathua, wherein Satbir Singh Beniwal, LDO, RBI, Aman Kalsotra, AGM(DDM), NABARD, Kathua, Hans Raj Hans, LDM, SBI, Kathua were present. The Government officers who attended the meeting were Shri R R Mangotra, Jt. Director, Planning, Dr.Noor Alam, Project Officer, DRDA, Dr.Travinder Singh, Chief Horticulture Officer, Shri Bipin Sambyal, Chief Agriculture Officer, Shri Jaffer Azad, Project Officer, DUDA, among others. The prominent bankers who attended the meeting were Shireesh Sharma, Cluster Head, J&K Bank, Kathua, Dalip Singh, Assistant Vice President, J&K Bank, Kathua, K L Sharma, Area Manager, JKGB and other district officers.The Chairman, Er. Narinder Singh Bali, Additional District Development Commissioner had a thread bare review of Annual Credit Plan, CD ratio, JKSES /SC-ST-OBC / KVIB / KVIC / DIC / SJSRY / Handloom / Handicraft, with special emphasis on KCC & financial inclusion. In this connection, he advised all banks and agricultural department to complete the 100% coverage of farmers under KCC, before 31st March 2015. He emphasized upon the banks to expedite cases for linkage under various schemes and achieve the allocated targets for 2014-15. Under Jan Dhan Yojana, he desired that all the accounts should be opened on priority as it is the major thrust of GoI. He also emphasized on holding of awareness camps in hilly and border areas. Satbir Singh Beniwal, LDO, RBI appreciated that the district has achieved the minimum CD ratio of 40% which currently stands at 41.93%. He desired that RBI stipulation of 60% should be the benchmark of CD ratio in the district and asked all the banks to achieve the same. He impressed upon the banks & line department, to ensure effective coordination in their working, so as to achieve desired results. He emphasized on the need for awareness camps for off-take of credit in the district. He advised organizing, at least one awareness camp each, every month by rural branches, to focus on aggressive lending in key areas, so as to achieve 100% financial inclusion of all unbanked villages in the district. Aman Kalsotra, AGM (DD), NABARD discussed SHGs, JLGs, KCCs, emphasized upon the disbursement under priority sector, among other issues. He emphasized on 100% coverage under KCC, which is concern of GOI. He emphasized on the “Asset Creation under Agriculture”, which will lead to credit disbursement and augmented income to farmers. He informed that NABARD has implemented Area Development Scheme on Dairy in Kathua district. He informed that the potential linked credit plan for 2015-16, is for Rs 640.76 crore. Shreesh Sharma, Cluster Head, J&K Bank, highlighted the importance of credit disbursement for increase in CD ratio. He emphasized on the importance of DRI loans, which caters to weaker and BPL section of the state. He informed about the status of performance of J&K Bank, wherein J&K bank has done maximum DRI cases in Kathua. Hans raj Hans, LDM, Kathua while presenting the achievements under Annual Action Plan for the year 2014-15, informed the house that under priority sector banks have achieved Rs 107.81 crores and Rs 109.24 crores under non-priority sector, as on September 2014. The deposit in the district stood at 1747.23 crore and advance Rs 846.50 crore. The CD ratio of the district as on 30th September 2014 stood at 41.93%.
