Progress update!! Prem baby Alexis born at 30 weeks is 1 Week, 6 Days old today Yesterday morning Alexis managed to breathe on her own for almost an hour without the C-PAP breathing machine – she did exceptionally well and this is a great development Maree has not left the hospital since Alexis was born, Nick (the Dad) visits most evenings and spent the weekend at the hospital with his fiance and baby daughter. Nick has not has not had the opportunity yet to hold Alexis, but is very much looking forward to it and a little nervous at the same time. Alexis rarely comes out of the incubator and on the occasions that she does has enjoys Kangaroo cuddles with Mum. If all goes well Alexis will be transferred to Waitakere NCIU this week.
