Project Director, Michael Ball and our Multimedia Producer, Chloe Lyttle, have attended a government meeting at City Hall, Tacloban. Joined with UNICEF, Samaritans Purse, World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Development Programme - UNDP, Save the Children, working together to deploy a seamless response for Typhoon #Hagupit. The statistics released were that 4245 families (19,000 people) have been evacuated into 26 evacuation centres. They then drove around the city to find almost empty communities, filled with governmental teams deploying a mandatory evacuation for precaution. The city is calm, but listening to all government directions in order to ensure safety. The All Hands Volunteers have been working on securing their base. The typhoon is predicted to hit Northern Samar, but the path has been changing direction daily so we have a team constantly watching its movement. According to the mayor, electricity is meant to stay up for the weekend.
