Project Manager - Society for Family Health (SFH) Society for Family Health (SFH) is a leading Local Zambian Organisation with programmes targeting malaria, child survival, HIV and reproductive health. SFH seeks an experienced-dynamic individual for the position of: Project Manager Activities will be implemented under the USAID funded Expanding Effective Contraceptive Options (EECO) project. The ECCO project focuses on introducing new women modern contraceptives into the public and private sector.The project also aims through research and consumer insight to understand barriers to access and use of these modern contraceptive products.The Project Manager will work in close collaboration with Communications Director, the SFH Research Team, The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Community Development Mother and Child Health (MCDMCH) to ensure that SFH achieves the goals of the project. The Project Manager will manage the introduction of new family planning products through the use of innovative strategies in line with identified audiences. This is a five year project with similar work being done in India and Malawi. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall strategy development and management. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: The Project Manager will be responsible for assisting in the overall strategy development., management (financial, administrative and programmatic), and will work closely with brand managers. Develop, together with the Research and Marketing Teams, project monitoring and evaluation plans. Collaborate with the Research Team to gain better understanding of consumer insight and attitudes regarding use of new contraceptive trends among women. Work with Family Planning Technical Working group to keep stakeholders informed of the project outcomes. Coordinate and lead demand generation efforts for new products/methods ¡n accord with project deliverables and outcomes. Liaise regularly with EECQ Deputy Director, located in the United States, as and when needed with other protect partners (PSI, Woman Care Global, International Center for Research on Women); donors (USAID, Swedish International Development Cooperation) and product developers (PATH and the Population Council). Coordinate with additional department.s to ensure timely and smooth execution of other project activities, including: provider training, medical detailing, demand generation, stakeholder advocacy, development of product packaging and/or consumer, trade promotional and educational materials. Develop processes and measurements to track the effectiveness of communication campaigns. Document all lessons learnt in the process of implementation of the project and contribute to project dissemination efforts. Develop and manage budgets; coordinate and/ or review donor reports, including financial and other reports as required by donors Qualifications Degree in health related field with a strong health background.A post-graduate degree (MBA. MPH) will be an added advantage. Significant experience in programmatic and financial management of project Excellent communication and writing skills. Experience and knowledge of international development and issues surrounding key health areas of family planning, maternal child health, HIV and malaria, will be an added advantage. Private sector experience considered a plus. Minimum of 5 years work experience in a management position. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, creative, innovative and determined. Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and change management skills are essential. The candidate will have a strong belief in private sector approaches to development and proven ability to produce results. Commitment to capacity building is essential and demonstration of excellent interpersonal and cross- cultural skills. He/she will also need to be a self starter, work in a team. adaptable. patient and possess a good sense of humour.
