Project Manager Vacancy – Construction Firm MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s /HND Degree in Engineering Construction Science, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Architecture, building technology or other core related fields from an accredited university. Master’s Degree a Plus, at least 3 - 5 years of experience in construction management. AND/OR Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job related competencies noted below. Required skills • Excellent communication skills • Good understanding of building systems, Auto CAD, revit and other building design related software. • Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is essential. • Ability to plan and organize a team effort. • Good client management and goodwill building ability. • Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams. • Effective time management and logical decision-making ability. • Capacity to handle pressure. • Willingness to travel extensively across the construction sites. • Physical and mental fitness is a given. • Strong focus on quality control is also a given. MAJOR DUTIES Note: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. • Responsible for developing and managing strategies for effectively communicating with key personnel both internal and external stakeholders. • Tracking and monitoring various projects and assuring adherence and compliance. • Oversee the contractors pay application approval process and negotiate contractors Schedule of Values. • Provide leadership for the construction projects and provide guidance for the day to day operations, administration, and decision making. • Develop and implement new policies and programs needed to track and monitor contract adherence. • Represent the organization during weekly/monthly meetings with the contractors and designers. • Work with project inspectors as required ensuring contract compliance and continuity. • Coordinate construction related activities with clients if need be it. Craft written notifications as well as conduct face to face meetings. • Coordinate and notify clients and fellow departments as needed when services are being impacted or interrupted based on the organizations directives.
