Project Update: NE 170th Street & Juanita Drive NE The City is making safety improvements at the intersection of NE 170th Street & Juanita Drive NE. Construction crews will be done working on this intersection today, but for electrical work. Traffic loops were damaged at the intersection because they weren’t buried where we expected them to be. In addition, crews uncovered a conduit problem going into the signal cabinet. What this means is that the traffic signal loops are no longer working. We’ve ordered traffic cameras for this intersection and King County’s signal tech has been working on the timing plans to handle predicted traffic patterns. While we’re waiting for the traffic cameras to arrive, the signal is programmed to a set timing for anticipated traffic levels. Until cameras are installed, expect traffic delays.
