Projetos magnificos (DIY): Planning reno of small master bathroom, how can I make it seem larger without losing much storage space?, Our master bathroom is fairly small, about 5x8 and was IMO fairly poorly planned. I feel like, while small, properly planned it could feel much larger. ift.tt/1iQA1al Note the cramped look even though its not a SUPER small bathroom. The shower is a built-in shower with a 6 inch thick wall and a single door which makes the bathroom feel even smaller than it already is. The vanity is the full 5 wall-to-wall tiled top, awful IMO. I think a smaller vanity with tall shelves on the sides would be better for storage and just look nicer. Im thinking that removing the wall and just having an open shower would make the bathroom feel much larger than it currently does. Do I need to tile all of the walls, even if the water will just be hitting in one corner? Or can I just tile out to where the water is going to be hitting and do the rest of the bathroom normally? Since its such a small area Im probably going to go ahead and put in heated floors when I retile, do I need to specifically look for water-proof under tile heating, or is that even a thing?
