Prominent Ulema from Deobandi sub-sect have urged the Pakistan govt/army and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to declare ceasefire in the name of Allah and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Nowhere in the statement did the Deobandi Ulmea condemn terrorist activities and suicide bombings by Deobandi terrorists of Taliban (TTP) and Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASWJ-LeJ) nor did they define the parameters of the ceasefire, i.e., supremacy of Pakistan’s constitution. Deobandi clerics appear to be worried about the growing public outrage against Deobandi militants and clerics from ordinary Pakistanis in the aftermath of massacre of hundreds of Christians, Ahmadis and thousands of Shias, Sunni Barelvis, Pakistan army soldiers and civilians at the hands of Takfiri Deobandi terrorists. Their statement is a tacit acceptance that Deobandi Taliban are invloved in terrorism, and that they want to preempt and diminish the possibility of a military action against Deobandi Taliban and LeJ militants.
