Promise to myself : While having a conversation with my child, I want to be more of a listener than a talker. I want to be that place where my child feels comfortable to give his feelings and emotions a voice. I want my child to share with me his inner most thoughts however beautiful or not so beautiful they may be. While I help him be a better child I want him to help me be a better parent. I talk to him about my expectations of him, now I want to listen to his expectations of me. I want to see the challenges of his time through his eyes and I want to help him face them with my understanding and patience. I want us to turn together to Allah swt and make dua for a better and a wiser me and him. I want to ask him to raise his hands in prayer and ask for me to be the parent that he deserves.
