Promotional policies of teachers and faculty members..(In the - TopicsExpress

Promotional policies of teachers and faculty members..(In the Technical Education Domain)..May be similarly followed elsewhere too... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MHRD must restructure the AICTE rules and norms for promoting teachers...PhD degrees are now being purchased by unholy direct or indirect means or at least by not doing serious research work (instead paying hefty semester fees!!), worthy of such a dignified degree (A summary of discussion of people in the domain of serious and sincere education )...Whereas MHRD is not seriously considering post M.Tech top class research, R&D or job experiences as equivalent to PhD degree (Which must be done typically considering the very fact that due to the confidentiality policy of Govt or Business Organizations, many top quality work of many experts are not published or even patented!?)...So, should our age-old evaluation technique(s), basically highly ambiguous and vaguely qualitative, not be abolished?? Paper publication is being treated as a measure..It is also not very scientific because publication is a tricky game these days and money matters!! Then what?? AICTE must be advised to work out very seriously for making ready a point based system for promotion of the teachers and faculty members such that Industry Consultancy, Project Development/implementation, business development activities, books publications, project guidance, managerial and education management activities can be given appropriate importance and encouragement .....A wholesome feedback system can be used via a website based questionnaire processing such that ideas and suggestions of experts in the domain of education and even inputs from the young talents in this domain can be used to collectively arrive at a constructive performance measuring policy leading to promotions...You may share your opinion freely....
