Proof of Your New Identity Recently, my wife and I were in Los Angeles for a conference. When we returned to the hotel, our keycard couldn’t open the room door, so we called the reception from the hotel phone in the corridor, and a member of the hotel security came up with a new key. But before he gave it to me, he asked, “Can I see some identification, please?” I had to show him my driver’s license as proof of my identity. In daily life, we must show legal proof of identification before we can access or transact anything. It happens when we check in for a flight and the staff looks at your passport, and when you go to the bank to access the money in your account. It’s no different in the realm of the Spirit! You might say, “I want healing, provision, deliverance, blessings!” But the question is, “Do you have any identification that proves you have a right to these things?” And as a believer, you can say, “Yes!” Here’s your proof: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” ~ Galatians 2:20 You have access to ALL of God’s promises and His goodness because you live by faith in Jesus. Your faith in Him is your “access card” because “… all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” ~ 2 Corinthians 1:20 So when you’re in need of anything, remember your amazing privilege—that through Jesus Christ, you have access to God’s goodness and the resources of heaven! Prayer for the day: Thank God for the access He has granted you to His goodness, grace and power through Jesus Christ. Pray that through faith and complete dependence on Him, you can find provision for life’s every need.
