As the 90 day unemployment approaching, I joined a consultancy and took a letter from them starting from my OPT start date in order to save the unemployment days. Apart from the offer letter, I have not signed any form of contract/bond with them and they are yet to find any Interviews/placements for my candidature. They also told me that I am free to leave the company any time I wanted. I am also attending interviews in parallel and I am likely to get a job offer from a company (that is not a consultancy). So, my question to you would be that if I decide to join the other company, will the consultancy that I am with currently, provide any release forms or resignation letter? 1) In case if they deny to provide me with such forms, what should I do? 2) What documents will I need as proof to show that I dont work for the consultancy any more? 3) If they dont provide me with the release forms, will it cause any problems at the time of OPT extension?
