Proper childhood. Mucky faces and hands ...we were out all day with friends playing in the fields. We crossed peoples gardens to get to each others gardens. Hoping not to get caught . Climbing trees, eating shared sweets, Washing our bikes in the sun with the hose pipe. Taking apples from neighbours trees. Riding bikes down the lane with no hands. Getting a ride on the front of the wheelbarrow from our Dad , making a tent out of an old sheet draped over washing line. Lunch time you got hungry so you just went home for a butty, and back out again. And as it got dark you went home tired happy and looking forward to next day... Bath tv then up to bed with a good book. (Famous 5/ secret 7....
