Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, None of you - TopicsExpress

Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, None of you should wish for death because of a calamity befalling him; but if he has to wish for death, he should say: O Allah! Keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and let me die if death is better for me. Sometimes people are tested with such calamities that there is no joy to be found in living any more, and life becomes a burden. In case any person should happen to be in such a state, the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam), nevertheless, told the person not to wish for death. What matters most is our second life, which is never going to end and only Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) knows whether staying alive or dieing is going to benefit our next life. This life, however it is will end. Thats the good news for those who are going through trials. Since the afterlife does not end, and Paradise gets better with each day in eternity, while the Fire of Hell only gets worse with each passing day, we should try our best to keep our focus on the next life.
