When God tests you God Allah Allaah is not looking at what people did in the past but what you are doing today. They shall have what they earned (the righteous rewards earned in their life shall be given to them in the hereafter) and you (the current generation) shall have what (righteous rewards) you earn (in this life given to you in the hereafter). You will not be questioned about what they (the people in past generations) did (instead you will be questioned on what you did so worry more about what you are doing than what other people did before you because it is what you do by which God shall judge you in the hereafter).
