Prophets and apostles have been hated by many in the Body of Jesus - TopicsExpress

Prophets and apostles have been hated by many in the Body of Jesus Christ, in a number of cases, for hundreds of years. The ones with these ministry gifts, know who they are, even if they do not announce it to everyone. It is a shame that these two pioneer and foundational gifts of the 5-fold ministry offices of Christs church, are despised so much. Paul said: Despise not prophecy. In addition to that, the word apostle means one that is sent. Moreover, there are/and were, more apostles than the 12 original Apostles of the Lamb, whom all have now fallen asleep in Christ. But these gift offices will always remain, to perfect the church, and prepare it for the work of the ministry. Further, Jesus said: Love ye one another, even as I have loved you. Many started being less antagonistic against these gifts when the Charismatics began to accept the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers of the 5-fold ministry, and other spiritual gifts, that are to be in the church until we all come into the unity of the faith, and the fullness of the statute of Christ. A number of pastors, began to downplay and stop several of these offices, supposedly, but in error, to protect their members, whom they feared would follow someone with one of these gifts. Many times they were right to be watchful of certain people, as a number of false people have misused the gifts. Again, there were more apostles or messengers than the 12 Apostles of the Lamb, as Jesus would send groups of 70 apostles at a time, empowering them, to prepare the way, and hearts of the people, in towns and cities that he would himself, later go. Moreover, there were apostles and prophets to duplicate the work (build upon the foundation that the the 1st apostles and prophets laid, with Jesus being the chief cornerstone and most important part. The apostles and prophets are pioneers and forerunners, and will do the ground work, in witnessing and publishing the gospel, and defending the faith, and establishing churches, and caring for them, until Jesus returns Furthermore, they have delivered the gospel of Jesus Christ down through the years, until it got to us in this 21st century church age. In recent years, many leaders and believers, have been more accepting of the Word of God, while others still do things their own way, whether in error or in rebellion. (Ephesians 4:8-16, Hebrews, Jude 1: 3, II John)
