Proposal of New Hajj House at Pahadi Shareef quashed Hyderabad, January 26: The construction proposal of long-awaited Hajj House at Pahadi Shareef near Shamshabad has been virtually quashed. Now the new Hajj house will not be constructed at Pahadi Shareef but in the heart of the city. Some proposals in this connection are under consideration by the government. Minority Welfare Department is likely to get sanction by the government soon. Minority Welfare Department is exploring possibilities of construction of new Hajj House at the open plot abutting Hajj House Nampally or lending the present Hajj House to Hajj committee for 30 years by evacuating the complex. Special Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel conducted a review meeting with Minority Welfare Commissioner Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal, Special Officer Hajj Committee S A Shukoor and other officials in connection with the construction of new Hajj House. It is said that proposal of construction of Hajj House near Pahadi Shareef has been unanimously rejected in the meeting saying that it will be tough for the Hajj pilgrims and their relatives. The officials asserted that Hajj pilgrims belong to various districts and their relatives too arrive in large numbers to see them off thus constructing a Hajj House at a far off place which lacks basic facilities will prove taxing for them. The officials further stated that Hajj aspirants need to come to Hajj House more than once right from issuance of Hajj forms to their departure therefore they will find it difficult to reach the outskirt of the city. Moreover most of the Hajj pilgrims are elderly persons; they and their relatives will find it convenient if the Hajj house is in the heart of the city. Nampally Hajj House is located at the prime spot where bus, train facility is available while these facilities will not be available at Pahadi Shareef. Siasat news
